Over 20 single-parent leaders receive training

By Livinus Tal Bam

Singlemothers_2 The fourth batch of the single-parent leaders recently graduated from the St. Jerome Biblical and Pastoral Centre. Some 20 single parents from the Diocese of Kumbo, undertook a 6 month course during which they were drilled on how to implant successful spiritual families in their different communities.

The pastoral care for single parents is an initiative of the Family Life Office of the Diocese of Kumbo. It is part of the Family Life Apostolate, a church authorised group that, amongst other objectives, works to ensure reproductive health and responsible parenthood among Catholic Christians along the teachings of the church During the commissioning ceremony, Bishop George Nkuo, called on the leaders to make use of the rich education they received during their training. He also promised them the support of the Kumbo Diocese. Most of the single parents trained and commissioned were women.
